Donna C. Kerr-Nowlan, age 85, of Elmira, NY, born September 25, 1936, passed away unexpectedly at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Donna is survived by her sons, Craig K. Nowlan (Mary) of Cape Coral, FL, and Brent F. Nowlan of Elmira. She started the Building Block Nursery School in 1969 in Elmira, and managed the school for over 40 years until its closing. Donna was a founder of the Twin Tiers Jazz Society, and was involved in the group until her death. She was also the founder of the Hal Roach Society. Donna was a gracious woman, and a pillar in the Elmira community. She was a member of many local organizations in which she served in various capacities including an executive member on several board of directors. Donna had a deep love of Elmira, was a staunch supporter for the growth of Elmira, a great friend to everyone, and will be greatly missed by everybody who loved her.  Funeral services will be private. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Donna would have wanted any donations in her memory to go to the Twin Tiers Jazz Society and the Christina M. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund, both in c/o 640 W. Gray St., Elmira, NY, 14905; and Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, Inc., 409 William St, Elmira, NY 14901.
